I have the oppurtunity to buy some American Racing headers 1 3/4 with catted 3 into 2.5 x pipe for 900$ should i jump on this? there 1 year old and he rarely drives the car
American Racing Headers are one of the best and easiest to install. They are stainless steel and some people opt to have them ceramic coated to reduce under hood heat. I have been toying with getting them but am leery of smell, noise and tuning issues that have been reported on this forum. I also understand that with ARH if you need clutch service they do not have to come off to get to the clutch. Other headers need to be removed. Guys with them can speak to that. A lot of folks get headers and love them.
I installed a set of FLPs with my heads/cam on my M6 coupe 6 years ago and a set of ARHs on my wife's A4 coupe almost a year ago and have had zero problems or codes with either setup.
That's a great price - go for it. Here's a shot of the AR headers I installed.
