My car has 135K miles on it of daily driven use, I need to replace an inner tie rod from bumpin a curb so I'll need an alignment. While I'm at it, I'm thinking of doing the ball joints, though at $550 + the tool and my time that isn't exactly pocket change. Has anyone replaced their ball joints? How long did yours last (I know this is a "it depends" question)
I've replaced two sets,2 different cars, and both have over 60k on them. Due to the effort level of replacing balljoints I would suggest the best units you can afford. Since your in the suspension that deep already, you might think about replacing your bushings with polyeurethane units while your there.
Yeah I plan to get Spicer uppers and Moog lowers (with the grease fittings) from Rockauto.com. Should be around $550 ish for all 8 of them. I'm still on the fence about the Poly bushings. I don't want the ride to be any more harsh, and definately do not want any squeeking problems. I'd get the VBP kit.... hmmm decisions......
The bushings will increase you sense of the road. I became accustomed to it fairly quickly. You might find someone who has already made the change and see what you think before you commit.
