Alright first let point out the fact that I'm only 17, so your knowledge on the Corvette vastly exceeds my own. That being said I have a 01 Coupe that my dad gave me to drive until I move out. I love this car and I make sure I take care of, mostly because if my dad saw a scratch on it, I'd be dead. Anyway this error came up on the DIC saying SERVICE ACTIVE HNDLG. I was freaking out, because I've taken such precaution with this car and now after I've been driving it, it needs to be serviced. It turned my traction control system on immediately and even if I press the button to turn it off the light stays on. Having read the manual about 10 times I knew what the Active Handling System was, but not how to fix it. So off to the dealership I went. When I got there, to my dismay they informed me they no longer work on the 01 Coupe. So my dad took it to his friend who used to work on Corvettes and he hooked it up to his computer. He said he's never seen the error before. Well I assume he was talking about the code that popped up, rather than the common SERVICE ACTIVE HNDLG. So I'm at a loss of what to do. I need help big time. I plan on grabbing the codes off of it later today so that maybe someone can see my problem more in depth. I also took a video of what's happening and I'll post that along with the codes later today.
The C5 Corvette is the only car you will own that has a free diagnostic display built right into it.
Not true, my buddies SRT4 does it too. Turn the key on then off 3 times and it displays your codes one by one, nonetheless I'm glad the C5 is equipped with it though!!
