Default Convertible top question.

Hi all,
I'm new to the forum and a first time vette owner. My new to me vette is an '04 silver vert, 6spd. Can't believe I didn't buy one sooner. A real blast to drive.
Anyway, my question is my vert top, when the top is up, is about a quarter of an inch higher on the right lower corner where the top meets the magnetic hold down strip. Can
this be adjusted to close the gap? I thought about trying to adjust myself and then decided
I better ask befor I screw it up worse. Not unsightly but it bugs me. Any ideas?? Thanks.

Are you talking about the rear of the top where it sits down on the toneu cover? If that is were you are refering too than yes there is an adjustment that can be made.Do a search on the forum to find out the procedure for the adjustment. LT

There is no magnetic hold down strip. The top is held down by the pressure from the front half of the top being pushed down to the windshield pushing back against the top to force it down in the back. Do a search for top adjustment and the pictures will explain it better. It is either warped by someone forcing it, or it needs adjustment.

Thanks all for your responses. A friend told me the back of the top was magneticly held,
now I know differently.
I've found some info on adjusting the top. I think I can resolve the issue.
Again, thanks for your input.

Be careful in your adjustment because some gap is actually needed or your top will rub the paint on the cover and you will end up with rub marks.
