I don't find it inconceivable that the DIC buttons *could* help. Obviously, they can't fill the fluid or open the bleed valves, but they are connected to the computer and with ABS and traction control likely connected to the computer as well, the DIC buttons could conceivably cause commands to "pump" each brake...

Or is my software engineering background getting ahead of current practice ;-)

Where to even start with such a post .......

When you say "but they are connected to the computer and with ABS and traction control likely connected to the computer as well" you display a complete misunderstanding of the fact that there are multiple computers in a C5 Corvette linked by a network.

The DIC buttons are not able, in any way shape or form, to control bleeding the brake system, anymore than hitting the ALT key on your keyboard affects my computer on the network.

If you think the DIC buttons have any control on bleeding the brakes, please explain the key combination that would do this, and why it is not documented in the GM Service Manuals.

As an aside ... on the C6, Chevy took away the function of using the DIC buttons to display DTC data ... the only thing the buttons do on a C6 is the function printed on the button.

Well too bad for you because I am holding my ALT key, not hitting it! Take that!! I will make your toolbar functions active!

That is a classic quote that, with your permission, I may need to use sometime in the future.
