Did a quick search, but found no similar problem. Drove the car home from work today (approx 14 mi). Get to my house and went inside. Came out 1/2 hr later, no start. Thinking it's the fuel pump, because it's been getting noisy more quickly. Go back inside to try to get a ride to work and when I came out 10 min later, it started right up. Went back out and it started up again. I used some not so good gas (Hess) about two weeks ago. No codes showed up. Thanks.
I had a problem with my 98 a few weeks ago. The car would start and then die. Did it four or five times. It sat for a few hours (it was cold when it was starting and dying) and then fired up and hasn't done it since!!!??? Started thread on here and didn't get much help on the issue. Guess it's just some crazy gremlins......
Check the starter solenoid. Just fixed this on my '02. It only happened to me when the engine was hot. I ended up replacing the whole ignition system before i realized what it was.
i had the same problem last fall with the car shutting off randomly and then just getting a click sometimes when i went to restart. its the start of the burnt ignition contact syndrome. sounds like the bill curlee ignition switch repair is in your future. i'de start there. its quick, easy and cheap.
Possibly an alternator? My sister-in-law just had a similar situation. Now it runs great! Also, check to make sure there isnt any grounding problems. Good luck!
Please explain NO START. Does it not crank (turn the engine over) OR crank (engine rotates but does not fire and run??????
KNOWING THAT INFO makes a BIG difference in where you jump in to the trouble shooting loop!
Six speed or automatic???
Whats wrong with HESS Gas???? I have used HESS and never had any issues with their gas.

Didn't crank at all, so FP may not be the prob. It's an auto. I cleaned off the key pellet last night. Fired it up today and drove it - no problems. Thanks for your help.
