When shifting from 1st to second or 3rd to fourth or fifth to six the car does not always engage into 2,4,or 6th. I have to either ensure the clutch is pedal is all the way to the floor or double pump when it does not catch. It feels like it goes inot gear and just as you let of the clutch it grinds a bit and pops out. Now it doesn't always do this but i notice it more if i am lazy on the clutch pedal and don't firmly shift down. No problem going into 1,3,5 at all!
I have ordered a clutch and assembly and just wanted to see if you guys agree it's the clutch. Otherwise the car runs smooth and no tranny problems.

how does the shifter feel? in my 97- with 40K miles, the stock shifter was very sloppy and caused me to grind 1st and it would even pop out of first all the time. I had issues with other gears as well- even down shifting was a royla pain (can you say lets guess if it was fully engaged ) I replaced the shifter with an 08 Z06 shifter and all my problems went away...it was like night and day...
I also noticed (at least in my 97) that the clutch engagement point is approximately 1-1.5 inches off the floor- meaning if you don't bottom out the clutch it shifts perfectly...but if you push it to the floor, you get a more difficult shift...its I know, but it seems to be a common thing...
