Default Lift point question

When lifting the front of the C-5 with a floor jack and a 2x6 board, is it ok to lift on the front cross member at the front of the engine? The manual shows lift points on the cross member at the rear of the engine just in front of the drainplug. Thanks for your input, dchev

Don't know whether its ok or not, but I lift mine there all the time. The one right in front of the transverse leaf spring.

According to the Service Manual you can lift ONLY at the outer ends of the forward front crossmember. Lifting from the center is not allowed.

If you want to lift from a center point, you should use the larger crossmember that is directly in front of the oil pan.

I simply put two 1 x 8 wood "pad" pieces on either side of a 2 x 8 and lift from the center of the wood. You then are lifting equally on both sides at the proper lift points.
