I was told there may be a problem with Hal shocks on the Vette. Anyone that has had them for a long time that can share their experiences with these shocks?
Thanks for the info.

Re: Any problems with Hal Adjustable Shocks (Austrian Vette)
I have installed them on a couple of C5's no problems, you just have to play around with the ride settings till you find what you are comfortable with.
Re: Any problems with Hal Adjustable Shocks (2000^C5)
A lot of people here like them; they are very easy to adjust and seem to be trouble-free. What is your intended use? They are generally considered to be a street/strip shock, not a performance cornering shock. Just depends on how serious you are and what matters to you. If you're not into serious cornering performance you'll probably appreciate the ease of adjustment.
However, if you want a better cornering shock drop me a line to discuss an alternative.

Team Z06
I am more active on the strip now but I would love to do some laps on a road course. So for now, the wheel hop problem is what I am trying to solve.
Thanks

Re: Any problems with Hal Adjustable Shocks (rfgoss1)
IMO, on an otherwise properly functioning C5, wheel hop is the result of bad shocks; either worn, defective, or improperly valved. I don't go to the dragstrip, but do run SCCA Pro Solo; dual mirror-image autocross courses with a side-by-side christmas tree drag start. Having launched between 2500 rpm on slippery asphalt up to 5000 rpm on super grippy concrete using Hoosier DOT autocross tires and Koni shocks I never experienced wheel hop in the Z06.
The Koni's are a bit more involved to adjust than the Hal's, but not that big of a deal. I can usually adjust all four in under 5 minutes. The Koni adjuster mechanism is located inside the wheel well at the top of the shock shaft, so you have to jack up the car to get enough clearance to reach in between the tire and fender to make the adjustment. This can be avoided in the rear by mounting the adjusters to face towards the rear of the car; you can then reach in from the back and adjust them. In the front you have no choice but to jack up the car to make the adjustment. IMO the Koni valving curves and mechanisms are superior to the Hal shocks. The Koni adjusts rebound valving only and the fixed compression valving is softer than even the revised 2002 Z06 shocks; they hook up good. The Koni's will cost several hundred dollars less from at least one source I know. Email me for further info.

2000^C5- You're car looks awesome (lowered). I want mine like that. :) How much did you lower it and do you have any problems with scrapping? I have the A&A frame saver and rocker rail kit that I will install as soon as I get a chance. I also have 18" F&R Fikses w/Pilot Sports coming in soon. As soon as I put the wheels/tires on, the car is getting lowered some more. :)
