Default 99 vette wheel sensor problems

Hello to all Let me get down to a funny problem I have been experiencing.....The dic display keeps telling me that my front tires are over inflated. I run 35-38lbs regularly. The tires on the front can hold 51 lbs {according to the sidewall ratings} Question really is: can I disable this section of the dic? Do they make some type of "simm" to do this? Dic constantly tells me about this every few minutes Any info would be appreciated..thanx again

The funny problem is your tires ARE over inflated. LOL
They should be at 30lbs.

The correct tire pressure for your car is listed on a sticker on the rear of the driver's door frame. Your tires are over-inflated and the TPM system is doing the correct thing warning you.

The "maximum" inflation marked on a tire is there for a tire shop to know the maxmum pressure they can use to seat the tire bead onto the rim. It is NOT for everyday driving pressure.

Your TPMS is telling you your tires are at 46 PSI or higher .... that is WAY over inflated. Geta decent tire gauge and set your tires to the recommended pressure for the car (usually 30 PSI)

Also remember that your tires will change pressure due to outside temperatures such as summer/winter AND altitude. 30-32 is the normal for almost all tires for this car. You are over-pressurized for sure.

you can have the tps system disabled. you'll need to go to the dealership or someone that has a tech 2 to do it.

He has a 1999 ... the enable/disable function didn't appear in the BCM until the Z06 came out (2001).

Dealership's usually won't turn the TPMS off, for liability reasons. They will happily turn it on. Anyway, his problem is fixed ..... putting the tires at the right inflation is a MUCH better solution than turning off the TPM function.
