Don't know what has caused this, but my fuel filler door sits too far forward in the opening. It's actually binding on the opening and scuffing the paint.
I did a forum search but couldn't find anything.
Is there a method to align the door to reposition it more aft?
You may be able to adjust it with the screws that hold it in (2) Have to remove the filler cap plastic surround to see them better. They are at the front by the hinge (also possible one fell out or loose?)
Mine looked out of alignment and it was because it was slightly cracked. Could see the crack in the inside but not on the outside.
Don't know if that is common, or if the previous owner had a gorilla fill his tank.
