Default advice on header and x pipe

hey everyone I just got my borla stingers put on my c5 and love them. I wanted some advice on headers and x pipe I am looking at kooks longtube headers and x pipe or lg motorsports headers and x pipe which one is better? Will I have to reprogram or bypass the check engine light?

You really can't go wrong with any of the big name headers like kooks, lg, ar, dynatech etc..

From my personal experience (which is very limited) I went with Dynatech and am very pleased. Install was easy and no issues fitament wise. I've heard good reviews on the LG street series which is pretty affordable. If you're trying to save some "moola", check the for sale section often and snag a good used set like I did

Yep, just did the LG Street/hi-flow cats/x-pipe (pakage), quite satisfied and no problems with the install.

My philosophy is... if you change any major components that affect the breathing of the motor, tune it.

My $.02

I bought the AR Headers and I am very pleased with them. Easy fit. The X-pipe was included in the purchase of the headers. I'm not sure if all brands do.

Same here. Did the streets a few months back...love it. Was originally going to go with the Pros but couldn't justify the extra $$$ for the extra 10 hp or so. Used the money saved on a good tune, couldn't be happier.

More then likely your gonna throw a code regardless of which way you go. My LG's were installed with Hi-flow cats and all was well but then after about 50 miles of driving the check engine light came on. Called Jeff @ Next Level Performance (he did the install and the tune.) Once Jeff re-programmed it, the problem went away. Took about 5 minutes. It was a problem with the oxy sensor.

In short be aware that you might throw a code. Have a tune done...you won't regret it. Without it you won't be running at peak performance.

Before removing the cats I would decide if the smell is worth the gain (if any). My vert has the cats removed and I wish I had them. I do have heads / cam install as well which increases the smell. Car is tuned. your desicion just something to consider.
