Noticed my security light was on the entire ride home. After i got home, i waited and restarted and the light did not go on...did my 99 6spd coupe just experience a senior moment or is the clb on the loose again, btw i had the clb removed....
I'm thinking the pellet on the key worked to get it started, then lost contact so you might try cleaning it with an pencil eraser. If that light is blinking, the car won't start.
I just bought a used 2004 convertible. I love it however there are a couple of things I noticed after I got it home. One is, occasionally the security light comes on when driving ( I've only put approx 200 miles on it since I gotit two weeks ago). The other is for some reason the car won't start, like it's a dead battery , however it's not. I'm wondering if it couldbe something with the key itself.
One time when I went to start it and got no response after several tries, a message appeared in the message area that said to take the key out and wait ten seconds. I did this and still no luck. I then placed a battery jumper on the battery and it started. However, I know the battery was not dead. Any suggestions
I've had a schizophrenic security light for several years ... never able to connect the dots on why it was on sometimes and not others. Last week the shift cable broke (A4), not letting the car start and lo and behold, after replacing it Monday the light hasn't come on a single time. Don't know if it's coincidence or not, as I've never really gotten a good answer as to what all taps into the security light.
