Default Need help for a friend

Had a friend call me today. He says his 97 air conditioning works fine on the drivers side, but blows heat on the passenger side. I know I have read about this problem before on here, but in doing a search came up with nothing. Can you help me find out what to tell him to check? Thanks. Jack

I believe that is going to the Vaccum line that actuates the doors for hot and cold and it is a pain in the butt. Because i believe it is the vaccum line that is plugged into the BACK of the intake manifold and as far as I know the only way to fix that is the remove the intake and hook it back up unless once again someone else wants to chime in and correct me.

The levels from defrost to feet is controlled by vacuum. The temps are controlled by electric actuators. They have plastic gears that are notorious for breaking. There is a brass upgrade. Here is a thread about replacing the actuators.

That is a great thread. I am actually having a slightly different problem. Both sides passenger and driver are both the same temp coming out of the vents but when I put the temp dial and at temp above 60degrees it starts to blow as hot as if I turned it to 90. So if it is set to 61 it starts to blow HOT but as soon as I turn it back to 60 it blows ICE cold again. From reading that entire thread you posted I dont think my problem is the same as that thread is talking about but does anyone know if that would fix my problem or if there is another door actuator for HOT and Cold mixture doors?
