P1416 Code
Anyway it was raining really hard and the car was parked outside all day. I started up my car and let it warm up. I was sitting in the parking lot and thought I smelled like a plastic melting smell but it could have been something else or another car. Half way home and the Check Engine light came on. I hot home and used my code reader and got code P1416.
Any suggestions?
I got a $100 deductible for service and the dealer said parts of my emissions were covered till this November.

The valve is very simple, usually the seal just sticks shut or gets gunk on the seat and sticks open. If you disconnect the main air supply hose and you get exhaust out of the engine side of the hose, the valve is stuck open.
There is a "Y" that connects the main air supply hose to both check valves. It's located between the engine and the brake vacuum booster at the fire wall. You can either disconnect the hose for the specific defective valve or just spray carb cleaner in the main air hose and fog both valves. After the cleaning, give it a good spray of WD-40.
