Default Climate comtrol issues!!!

I've had my 02 z06 for about a month and as its starting to get more hot here I decided to run the a/c one day, as most days I just drive with the windows down if its nice enough out. Well I turned the fan on about halfway and put it to the "face" vent only but for some reason it was still blowing on my feet. So after messing with it for several days in both a/c and heat it seems to be stuck in the feet/face mode or something in between. Its quite annoying because it doesnt blow nearly as hard as it should and has almost made it pointless to try and drive with the a/c on.

I took it to the dealership but they guy said they will have to charge at least a 100 dollar inspection fee, which would be charged if they figured out what it was and i chose for them not to fix it. Or possibly a 5-700 dollar charge to fix the issue(just a guess). Being that I dont really want to drop that kind of cash on a little issue like this I figured I'd see if this is a common issue with a easy fix. I tried to search but nothing came up with my similar symptoms. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

TIA!

Well, does the control display read that it's changing and it's not changing or does it not even respond to the pushing of the button to change it? If the display responds to you pressing the button and it's not changing, then you probably have a vacuum related issue. There is a hose coming off the back of the intake that goes under the battery ( where it is possible to get corroded and compromised) then in through a grommet in the firewall to a vacuum distribution box I believe. The vacuum line where exposed is purple in color. The actuators that control the levels are controlled by this vacuum. For more info, so an advanced search on Bill Curlee . He is awesome at troubleshooting and repair on this and has answered many questions about this in the recent past. He is great about providing detailed answers which include photos.

Here's one. Try this on for size!!

Thank you! Yes you are correct, it reads that it is changing but doesnt actually change. I'll look into that link and pull the battery and such to check for corrosion on that vacuum line. I hope thats the issue because it seems to be a easy and cheap(way cheaper than 5-700) fix!
