Default removing shifter ****

This may sound like a dumb question, but how do you get the shift **** off? I have the stock 6 speed shifter and ****. Is there some sort of lock preventing it from just twisting off, or is it just really stiff? Thanks

Take the cover on the top of the shifter off with a small screw driver. You will see a t-pin and grab it with a pair of vice-grips and use a hammer to bang in the up direction on the vice-grips and remove the t-pin. Unscrew the ****.. Your done!

It comes out fairly easy when you tap it with the hammer.

Yup. Pull of the cover onthe top of the shift ****. You will see what they call the "demon key"..mine was difficult to get out, hince..demon key, lol. i used vice grips and a hammer. good idea to throw a rag on top so that the key doesnt fly all over your car and hit things.

Mine came off with vice grips and few choice words. Cover everything within range with towels.
