hahaha, good read.

I don't know if this poster is for real or what but it funny to me because I run into people like this all the time in real life. Reminds me of an old saying, "never argue with an idiot, he will drag you down to his level and beat you with experience."

I'm surprised nobody mentioned that '03's don't even have the MAF screen. He made such a big deal out of it, and all....

Default Don't need this crap

In the responses to my thread, I have described my vehicle as best to my capability as it was purchased used. The engine is confirmed to be a Z-06 motor and is a coupe, the data plate also shows the proper code for the z-06 as confirmed by my service writer.

I am a retired engineering manager (product design) and have one year to go before I complete my tenure as a sworn deputy sheriff. I teach swat tactics and perimeter snipers. I retired out of engineering by accepting a golden parachutte when our company was bought out, so in effect, retired at 44 with all benefits, salary etc.

Some messages received were not posted on the forum, these were some individual venting or has three or four screws loose, what we used to call manic depressive or currently bi-polar. That individual email was given to my supervisor and forwarded onto homeland defense as the sheriff's department is part of that organization. We are 5,000 people in size. The death threat was taken seriously and that gentleman will be dealt with severely as the entire message thread was printed out for prosecution. The anger involved was similar to that which is being prosecuted currently in Florida with the five girls who beat up another girl (made it nationally to all the news networks.

Talked with Connell Chevrolet in Ca and inquired about the availability of the ZR-1, the dealers are going to price the 09's as follows, with heads up, sport seats etc; C-6 - 65,000, Z-06 -85,000 and the ZR-1 at 100 large. grossly over priced but potential collector cars in another 20-40 years, however the market is very soft right now, so there is a large bargaining room if interested in the 09's.

Hopefully have answered any questions. No do not smoke, take pills etc as these would be detected in the random blood tests required of all sworn personnel. It also keeps my CCW current.

That seems like a simple solution - make sure you take a helmet as it lifts the wheels in 2nd-4th partially from the supercharger*, but mostly from the HP gained from removing the screen (you know, since it dropped 2-1/2 seconds from the 1/4 mile time).

Good luck!

* Or not...

Mods: LS-7 complete kit mod from SLP, its about 4 large, they claim 427 hp with the blackwing, air flow sensor mod, lifters changed from 1.7 to 1.8" of throw, Crane Cam-high performance not quite a 3/4 race as the car is street driven. It also started life as a Z-06.

What was not stated previously is it has a supercharger, 6 large and one large to install, running a mild 7 pound boost.

Smooth rubber between the snorkle and throttle body
Wide mouth adapter added to throttle body to simulate 90 mm ($59.00 plastic part available from most catalog suppliers on this forum.)
MSD spark plug wires, factory plugs replaced (3 bad)
Car mileage 25,000
Tire pressure 35 lbs cold, nitrogren filled
Corsa x-pipe and Indy exhaust system

with the exception of the death threat, if its even true, this thread is pretty damn funny. if you seriously did get a death threat from someone reading this thread its pretty sad... some people have WAY too much time on their hands.

Thanks again for the chuckle.
