It is my understanding that you will need a retune no matter what cam you throw in to get the full benifit of the cam and for the car to run right. I would just hold off untill you can get the cam and tune it at the same time.
If the cam is worth the time and hassle to swap, it will need a tune.
I just put a Hot Cam in my car and it needs to be tuned ( Friday i cant wait! )The car is running rich now and its hard to get it to idle but drives ok. You wont be happy unless you get a tune so add it to the cost and time of your cam install, good luck

Z06 cam won't need a tune. But if your going to do a cam swap you should really do something more aggressive and get it tuned. IMO
Yes it will! The ZO6 cam still should have a tune to run properly.
If your doing a Cam, there are a LOT of other things that you should plan into the budget! They are:
New damper
ARP damper bolt
LS2 or better timing chain
New LS6 or better Oil pump
New better push rods
New valve springs
My 02 ZO6 damper just failed. The old style seal cut a deep grove into the damper hub and it was leaking oil from the front seal BAD! Even if the hub is still good, the elastomer between the outer ring and the damper breaks down and will damage the engine or PS rack.

Go to vinci high performance .com and it gives you the specs for cams that require tuning. 210/218 with.551 lift and 116 lsa does not require tuning. This cam is extremely close to the c5 Z06. But we all know as I previously stated to get the most out of any cam a tune is required.
Because of all the needle bearing crap I have read on stock rockers and how they can fail. Also stock rockers do not have roller tips. Supposedly its rare the needle bearings falling out. So why not have a true roller engine
and better rockers. IMO GM has always made crappy rockers.
