Default Serpentine gatorback too short?

I purchased the gatorback a/c and serpentine belts yesterday. Thanks to write ups from BowTieRocket, TheeMike, and others the process was a breeze except for one problem. The serpentine belt seems a tad too short. I tried slipping it under the water pump last and i tried slipping it over the tensioner pully last. Neither worked for me. After a couple hours of fighting with it i put the old belt back on. A/c belt was a breeze. Anyone else have trouble with this belt? Part number is 4060798.

Have one sitting in the back of my car with the old one back on too. I gave up after an hour of pinched fingers etc. I kow I have the right one but I'll be darmed if it will slide on. Super tight. Afraid it will rip my balance off.

Try removing the top bolt form your alt. and loosing the bottom bolt and push the alt. top towards the engine. Then put the belt over all the pulleys except the idler next to the power steering slip it over this idler last and then pull back the Alt. and reinstall the top bolt and tighten the lower one.

R2 installer if the belt is correct size

this is basic stuff, use the smooth wp pulley as the last one to slip over
