Installing a tranny cooler
Installing a Tranny cooler this weekend and I know the return line is the top one out of the radiator. When this is disconnected how much fluid can I plan on loosing?
Also I am going to prefill the cooler with dex 6. Is that a wise move?

You shouldn't lose much fluid- it all runs back to the tranny on shutdown. Be sure and hook the return line(top one from the radiator) to the bottom inlet on the cooler. Kind off hard to fill the cooler with fluid since there is an inlet on the bottom, but the more fluid you can get in, the less you have to put in the tranny.

Just installed a cooler. You won't loose much fluid when you disconnect the upper trans line to the radiator. I had very little "drip" out after the fitting was removed and that was stopped with a rag. After the cooler was installed and the lines were routed around the shroud to the back of the radiator, I filled the cooler with trans fluid until the fluid was level in both tubes before connecting the lines to the return side of the transmission.
Very little to no fluid loss.

Appreciate it guys. I just don't want to spend an eternity under the car with apump or a turkey baster.
Is it OK to mix Dex 6 with I guess it's dex 4. Had it changed out 30k ago.
