More likely then not you're gonna throw a code with the headers...mine did. It was fine when I first started it up and drove it about 50 miles with no probs. Then after stopping to put gas in I got the infamous check engine light. And no, it had nothing to do with me filling up the tank as sometimes can happen. Took it back to the tuner he indicated it was a problem with the oxy sensor..plugged in the old lap top, remapped it ... no porblems since.
Oh by the way ...when the light came on I experienced no drop in performance what-so-ever.
I have a complete Stainless Works header and exhaust system. They are 1 3/4" stainless LT headers, 3" collectors, 3' high flow Random Tech metal matrix high flow cats, 3' stainless X pipe and 3" stainless duel tip exhaust. I have ZERO problems with exhaust or header related DTC's. Never had any issues with this system.
So,,,not all headers will have DTC issues. If you install headers, I recommend a tune to optimize your engine operating parameters.
