the best is coming to you! let him set it and then forget it
I wasn't able to drive or tow my car to richmond to meet up with doug. I would have loved to tune it and forget it, which is still my goal to get it running and put the efi on the shelf to collect as much dust as possible. Or sell it for hp tuners.
Once the VE is dialed in, if you change injectors, all you have to do is scale the IFR until you trims are back to what they were with the other injectors.
I've plugged in injector tables after injector swaps into cars I've previously tuned, and then had to skew those tables by a few % to get the trims perfect.
I have at least 2 spread sheets I down loaded to calculate these adjustment, but I havn't been able to get to this step.....
I wish I could
Again, Why cant there be one wiring diagram for n/a that is as simple and ACCURATE as installing a head unit. THere are more wires for a head unit. I would actually say installing ahead unit is more complicated esp if hooking up a dimmer and power antenna.
Worse than all the airplane ground schools all put together, that I ever went through in 40 years of flying.
We all went through it. The more you work at it, the easier it gets. There is alot of help out there. I have EFI Live and their help forum is good: http://forum.efilive.com/
also LS1Tech.com. http://www.ls1tech.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=7
I hope you have a printer, I printed out all the manuals and everything off the forums.
Be sure to look at the Tutorials on EFILive: http://efilive.com/download.aspx
I know you have a 97 and you have the early computer which has some limitations.
You didn't mention sun light blanking out the laptop screen or loging and looking for the Pooolice!
Take the member with the 97 with mods like yours offer on using his tune. It will help you learn by comparing the two.
Cheers, Curt
You make me feel much better my friend!
I deal w/ the po-po all too much up here in the Northern Communistwealth of Va (life time resident of the state so I can take shots). However I would welcome it b/c It would mean I'm driving my car!
I've looked in all your recommended places as well on the innovate forum where I found out about their bum products.
The efi live LC-1 install tutorial contradicts every wire color supplied by the LC-1. (not at you at EFI live)

The reason I havn't changed my injectors is simple:
I'm trying to limit the variables. At this point I just want the car to run. I can dive into moding all those table and spread sheets after I re invent the wiring hook up of the damn efi and innovate.
Unfortunately, I have to go out of town next week. If you'd like to wait, I'm in Centreville and have some experience tuning. I'd be willing to help you get started. Shoot me a pm.
Have you checked out the "autotune" feature of EFIlive? It's very good...I don't know of any others that offer it....check the forums out at efilive.com ....good luck.

oh yeah, it would help if your car is running first.
DMIZ0420 has a revised EFI live tune file sitting in his mailbox (or on his computer) since ~11am this morning....he should be good, or at least headed in the right direction. Once the LC1 is installed and wired up, 42# installed, I believe he's gonna upload the tune and see how she runs.
Keep me posted on this!
FYI I didn't have issues with my LC1 wiring schematic but they might have changed things. Also, I've had great luck with EFI Live. I've seen HP tuners and I haven't seen anything that I couldn't do with EFI Live.....both interfaces are pretty easy to use once you get used to them.
