I have noticed that a lot of performance timing chains are shown with the cam and crank gears as a set. Is it necessary to change the gears if you want to upgrade/replace the timing chain - like to an LS2 timing chain and you don't need adjustable timing gears?
Seems to me that the chain alone would be fine if the gears are not worn.
Damn, keep forgetting. Perhaps a sample will jog my memory
Just kidding
