pull key wait 10 secs. ????? PLEASE READ ME
I had the CLB in my car when it hit me.
The CLB had been in the car for, well, I would guess 2 years.
I still got struck with it!

This all happened to me during FunFest Last year.
My car ended up being towed to a local dealer there. Over a period of about 3 weeks they had it. They tried the GM fixes. Guess what.... They could not get it fixed!!!!
I had to go to there shop and use HP Tuners to flash out the Fuel cut off to even get it to drive again! they still charged me $300!!
I got a new CLB, hopeing that it would fix it. NADA!
I still get the messages on the DIC. I have found now that if i cycle the ignition about 3 times, the Pull key will go away, and then just get the Lock mesage. That message can be cleared, till the next start.
So WHERE IS THE FIX?
In my case I am thinking that I need a new BCM? Or whatever relay in there that sends this meassage?
Low battery in car also cause column lock message. Check and charge or replace.

If your only problem is the message? You just use the RESET on the DIC. That will clear the message.
Maybe I was unclear in my post. I do not have any locking of my steering wheel, and I have tuned out the fuel cut off. So my car starts drives, regardless of the messages.
I will get both pull key wait 10 sec, and the column lock message. The reset on the DIC will not get rid of the Pull key message. But, if I cycle the key 3 times before starting the car, the "pull key wait" will not set. I will just get the service colunm lock message. That message can be cleared with the reset on the DIC, and will not return untill a restart of the car.

I have HPTuners, so I just changed the cut off, I believe that EFI will also do it?
It should be located @System>General>Column Lock. There should be a place there to change the MPH that the fuel is cut off.
By all means be DANM sure that the wheel lock is disabled before doing this!!!!! AKA the wheel will move freely at all times!! Even with the car off and the key out!!!!
This will not do away with the messages, or at least have not on my car? As that is coming from the BCM, and you are only changing info in the PCM.
I am under the belief that mine actaed up do to a wet BCM? Not sure, and have not taken it out to check or clean all of it. That is something I need to do, just not had the time yet.
Hope this long post has helped?
When first got my car, I had the dreaded clb issue. I had the car towed to the dealership to get it back on the road. The car still has that pull key wait 10 secs. message once and a while that I hate. So, I finally oredered my clb bypass today. The only thing that works is when I initially put the key in the ignition, I have to turn the key partially and wait until the "security" light goes out. Then I can start my car with out getting the dreaded light.
As I have stated many times, I had the "CLB installed before" I had the problem.
That is why I feel that it lies in the BCM itself. I for one know that I have had a wet BCM. I also thought that it might be in the ignition/key. But, If that was the case I don't think the car would start at all? Maybe I am wrong on that? I would think if the ignition switch was bad it would not start, and the same if it was the key. I have had the same result with both keys I have.
My car sat at a GM dealer for 3 weeks last summer, (300 miles from home) as they tried to fix it. I was told that my car was not showing anything on there scanner, to even give them an idea.
They tried the recall work.(which they took back out, and even kept my CLB!) Got it to drive one, or two times, and then it went right back, to the same old ****! I tried to get them to replace the BCM, but they would not do it.
Why I have no BLEEPING idea? I made the trip back up to there shop, flashed the PCM with the changes I mentioned above. Took me all of about 3 minutes to do, right there in there shop, as they watched. Presto, car ran just FINE! Still with the codes showing. But, it runs and drives, something they could not get it to do!!!!
AHHH, and they only charged $300.
For what I have no clue? Guess it was for them storing the car for me?
Even though it was covered in dust, and the interior parts/trim was misaligned!!!! I fixed all that later!
Man now I am upset over it all over again.. LOL!

I had the CLB when it hit.
Replaced with another CLB later on, Still the same here!
Mine could be do to a wet BCM? But others I am sure have not had that happen? Or they are not aware that they have?
So I still feel that it is all in the BCM, wet i would guess on my part. But others it may just be a BCM issue also. Even if they have not gotten wet, they could have issues.
Just my thinking, as that is the place that all of this is controlled from. As I said I hve not taken mine out, so i do not know what all is in there? Anyone have a pic of the inside of a BCM? It is a computer board right?
Are there cap's in it? I ask that as I do play with PC's on the side. And I know that many motherboards have had a history of bad /leaking cap's! This on a PC can cause many different problems.
The timeline on the cap's problems with PC's, would also be the same timeline as the C5 was built. Just a randonm thought there, as I said I have not looked at a BCM board.
