Ok i searched & Searched for a forum that could help me but still havent found one!! I have changed My Tensioner, the idler pulley and i dont run a ac belt so it couldnt be that it sounds like it is comming from the right driver side of the motor, and it starts whenever i accelerate and when i slow down and put it in nuetral it just quits i have no idea what it could be!!
Well i did the screw driver thing u told me to do and the alternator and tensioner are just fine so im thinking it might be the water pump. Man its just one thing after another with this car i feel like i should just trade it in
Im getting a similar sound with my Vette but its kinda weird it will squeel a bit on and off but only at about 1500 rpms. above or below it goes away. I havent figuered wher its coming from or even if its the belt? But it sounds like a belt squeel. so If you figure it out Ide like to know what it was...thanks
I had a small "chirp" at idle. I took it in and they replaced the alternator under warranty, but after driving it for less than 100 miles, it came back. I'm going to take it back in and will let you know what they find.
Sweet! I took a long screw driver and listened to the alternator and i couldnt hear a squeal but whenever i do just take the belt off and turn it and back and foward it kinda makes a squeal but i dunno lol
Due to EPA regulations the belt manufacturers have changed the compound of the rubber which cause most of the newer belts to make more noise. Dayco just came out with a new design with a patented "W" groove that they guarantee not to squeal, it also has their version of teflon in the belt. They look really nice.
