My 1998 Headlamps worked perfectly and then with no indication both Headlamp Motors stopped working, can not even hear a motor noise. Checked all information recently posted by Mr. Curlee and gmblack3. Very stumped, need serious help. Could it possibly be the switch on turn signal lever ? jchebert@***.net
I have a different problem. I replaced one of the motors last year. Now, the same light makes a nasty "ratchetty" sound when I lower it,even though it works perfectly. It's been doing this for about 6 months.

Sounds like your plastic gears are going bad. Look into some brass ones. There is a sticky on here with a "how to" replace them.

Thanks for replying. The problem started only a few months after I replaced the passenger side motor. It works fine, yet makes that really annoying sound. I'll look into changing the gears. Thanks!
