Default Dilemma..Nitrous or Heads..

Ok so here is my situation. Got myself a modded up C5 coupe. All bolt on's you can imagine except gears. Anyway I was thinking either heads or a 35-50hp shot of nitrous. Car is a daily driver but I do drag it every once in a while. I am leaning towards the nitrous cause I can run that when I want to and save the gas as for the heads that will suck some more gas milage out of the car and I am not really too happy with that. Also the price of nitrous vs. heads is large so the nitrous is looking good. Can I use it on an LS6 Intake manifold?..How much work to install?..etc. Thanks guys!

no because sometime down the line I may throw a supercharger or twin turbo on the car.

Heads, bump up compression and your mileage will go up. Many have strapped on AFR's and bumped compression, 45 hp plus 2-3 mpg. I saw an increase when I put on my Darts.

I am not a fan of nitrous, too hard on the motor long term.

Put heads on the car...then you have the power all the time.

A 35-40 shot is a waste of time anyway.

30-50 shot of nitrous is something you might put on a motorcycle. Not enough to justify putting on the car. You have to take into account the cost of nitrous too. You won't have to keep spending money on your heads like you would a nitrous bottle considering bottle fills. Get the heads!

I like that information. Sounds like the heads are a good idea.

you cant run an FI car with gears, you need to be at 3:43 ratio in the back. The superchargers/turbo's make too much power for them and they would just spin ridiculously.

I have alot of mods on my c-5 and I run nitrous 150 shot. 30 -40 hp gains is not worth the nitrous! Go for the heads instead! If you plan on running more hp then go with 100hp shot of nitrous! with all my mods and nitrous 150 shot I ran best time of 10.70 @ 130.00mph with 1.55 60 foot times. With more tuning it will go low tens! Good luck!
