MISSFIRE and codes
HELP!!!
Changed the plugs and wires in my `01 and Now I've got a check engine light and a missfire. I'vechecked the wires and they all seem to be on good. I checked the DIC and It's showing PO300, 1416, C1221,
C1222, C1248. Then it shows "28-TCS 3 CODES".
Can someone please shed some light on this for me!

Well, went out and checked the plug wires again and lo and behold #8 wasn't on tight

Please retrace your maintenance.
What plugs and gap did you use?
Are the insulators cracked?
Are the BOOTS fully seated on the coil towers and on the plugs? Recommend inserting the small flat end of a tie wrap into the coil boot while pushing it on the coil tower. That will allow the air to burp out. Once its fully seated (it will click twice) remove the tie wrap.
What wires did you use?
Have you tried to clear the DTCs and see if the other ones come back?

Thanks BC! Yeah, #8 wasn't clicked on to the plug. Using MSD wires and Delco Iridiums at .040. Still have that darned C.E.L. though. I've reset several times???? I'll go out and see if I can write all down. Shoulda taken shorthand 50 years ago......

Manual Diagnostics" .... now is the time to start writing down the codes ....... In the "MANUAL" mode you may select a particular module by pressing the "options" button to go forward or the "trip" button to go back. Once a system is selected and a DTC is displayed, if more than one are present; press "gages" to move forward or "fuel" to go back. To exit the diagnostic mode at any time, press "E/M". If you want to erase or "clear" codes, press and hold "reset" until the code deletes.

Wow, these C-5s are almost as smart as the members here. That worked perfectly, and no need for shorthand. I checked the hose connections by #8 and redid them, just in case.
the codes it threw are:

Can you identify any of these? I reset everything and the C.E.L. went off. Purrs like a kitten.........

Nope ... these cars aren't "almost as smart as the members here" ... in many cases the car is WAY smarter than the member .....

OK, so you deleted the codes after writing them down. That was smart. Tomorrow I want you to go in and run the diagnostic again. List any/all DTC that are now in the car's computers and post them. Any "new" codes are worth looking into. Someone can look up the codes and then help you in diagnosing/fixing them.
You should check for codes occasionally. Some codes can set that won't turn on warning lamps, but can give you a "hint" of an upcoming problem. The codes can help you in keeping the reliability of your Corvette "high" as they can help spot minor problems before they become "major".
On the other hand, regular inspection and maintenance is still important. There are no codes for "radiator hose gonna split next Thursday" or "Serpentine belt gonna break in 20 minutes" .... but if a certain sensor is gonna fail in a few weeks it will usually cause some DTC to set long before it fails completely as it intermittently spews "bad" data.
Looking forward to a short list of codes (if any) .....

The only thing that came up after 200+ miles today was BORFA---
C2100H. I think you wrote that the RFA is Remote Funtion Indicator. (key bob, etc.) I don't believe you mentioned the BO prefix. How serious is it, Doctor?

C2100 Left Front TPM Sensor Malfunction
At some point during your drive the car was not receiving tire pressure data from your Left Front tire sensor.
Most likely the battery in the sensor is getting weak (they are supposed to last about 7 years). You will need to start thinking about replacing the sensors if they have not been replaced before.
Before replacing the sensors you need to follow my following recommended steps .....
1) Sit down in your favorite comfortable chair .....
2) Be sipping (gulping) down your favorite libation (mine is Johnny Walker Black Label)
3) Now you are ready to hear the price of new sensors .......

Hey, if I have to replace those sensors I won't be able to partake in my favorite libation (Gentleman Jack) anymore. I wouldn't be able to afford it.
They all seem to be working okay at this point so I'll cross that bridge when it comes to me..... I'll go back to using a tire guage, not that I ever quit anyway. I've seen some posts on replacing the batterys. I guess if you had a tire machine in your garage it wouldn't be too bad, heh, heh.......Thanks for the help, Steve!
