Honker Installation

I am currently installing a Honker in my '03 vert. I am stuck on getting the metal fasteners off of the push pins on the sides of the radiator shroud. Can anyone give me a way to remove those metal fasteners?

i used a real long narrow screwdriver and shoved it between the shroud and the frame and just pried the shroud away from the frame. took about 2 minutes to do both sides, after trying for a long time to do it any other way. went to the chevy dealer and bought 2 new push pins and locks. someone in the past said that you don't need these pins, but i replaced mine just the same.

These pins are used to hold the shroud on the production line and are not necessary. They do not need to be replaced. I use a very large screw driver to pry them off as well.

I put mine back on - they were pretty buggered up by the time I got them off. If I did it again I would have new ones on hand and snip the old ones off instead of trying to pry them apart.
