Default Underhood insulation removal
Quick question, will removing the underhood insulation damage the hood paint do to heat? Thnx in advanced.

Several on the forum have done it and either custom painted the underside of the hood or applied aftermarket mirrored surfaces.

My guess would be no

Its a fiber type material so it probably has some noise deadening effect as well.

The heat will not affect the paint. Some of the surface is not covered up by the insulation and that holds up fine.

The point of the insulation is to help contain an engine fire. That is all.
