Hey guys,
It seems I have a problem with my Vette and I am not exactly sure what it is.
I think it is either a intermittent misfire / slight misfire or a slipping clutch
Here is the goods of the car
'99 with 38000 miles on it
Magnuson Intercooler Supercharger
LS6 CAM
Morley Hardened Push Rods
Dual Chain
Z06 Transmission (MN12)
B & M Shifter w/C2 Handle
FLP Long Tube Headers w/High Flow Cats
Corsa Indy (Pro Tips) Exhaust
BPP Vortex Cold Air Intake
Ok heres the situation. I could be in 5 or 6th gear at a lower rate of speed hit the gas and it bucks some. It is more like a slight hestitation for a second then off it ok, then hesitates then off and ok, and then when i get up to speed it catches and stops. Now it doesnt always happen at a low rate of speed, like if i am in 6th doing 80 and i give it the gas it does the same til i get up there in speed. At idle the car jiggles from side to side and at times I will take off slowly and hear a loud pop/ backfire, and this occurs when i running it hard and shifts at a certain point.
I have watched the rpms and they dont rev up at any time. so i am starting to think it isnt the clutch. But I could be wrong.
This is an intermittent problem that hasnt caused any codes to pop up yet (or at least I have ran diagnostics to see if there are any).
What do you think it is, and depending on that, what do you think it will cost to fix it?

I'm kinda having the same problems with my KB s/c.I'm starting to think it has something to do with the engine temp.my car runs great when I 1st start driving it,after it warms up it starts to do what you are saying,my car did get up to 230 degrees when this was happening, not sure why its doing that yet,I do have a 160 thermastat, and its programed to come on early,I don't think it is though,so its back to the tuner again, check your temp and see if that could be it.
temps look to be right down the middle of the gauge
doesnt have to happen after i really run it. it happens sometimes when i just start up and such too
Sounds like your timing map may be off. Even at low throttle, the Maggie engines produce boost. If you have too much timing, it will buck like you're saying. Definitely sounds like a tuning issue. You need to make sure you don't have any leaks by making sure the MAF is tight and the blower bolts are tight. (18ft.lbs ) If you have a boost leak, it could cause this problem. Do you have a boost gauge? I also have had a problem in the past where it would spit and sputter and I discovered that my cats were clogged up. Clogged cats will raise your boost. If you have a boost gauge and noticed that your boost is higher than it used to be, you have clogged cats.
Ok, i had my mechanic take a look at it and found out it was the wires (at least for right now)
he said that 2 of them were barely on, and there was a third that had a crack in it and was arcing
if after this setup, it still does it i will look to the s/c
i do have a boost gauge and it doesnt look to fall when i start to stumble and the belts are tight
