I have been trying to get Goodyear runflats a pair of p275/40zr-18 and a pair of p245/45zr-17. Called Tirerack, Discount Tire and the GoodYear Tire headquarters itself. They all told me the runflats will not be available for another 6 weeks, nation wide.
Are you serious? Get yourself some GY F1 D3's and call it a day! I'm sooo glad I got rid of the runflats! These tires are sooo much smoother, quieter, stickier, etc. Night / Day difference.
If you're worried about getting a flat, get yourself a continental contikit. Its an inflator that will not damage the tire pressure sensors. tirerack carries them. I have a kit in my vette for piece of mind. You'll have the best of both worlds!
I agree. They were not available here in England last year so I got Bridgestone run flats instead..........glad I did.
And I've been waiting for 6 weeks for Tire Rack to get their supply of Firstone Wide-Oval Run-Flats (C6 sizes). I contacted Bridgestone and they called me back They said the tires were on a boat, soon to dock in Calif. He claimed Tire Rack would have them in 3 weeks... and that was told to me earlier last week.
Needed 2 front (17's) and same thing I was told "on indefinate back order"...the local goodyear dealer found me 2 in about 3 days........sure beets buying 4.
Check again at Discount Tire that has its own system of warehouses.
When Z06 tires were on back order from the dealers, Discount Tire had plenty in their warehouses. It may take a few days to get them, depending on where the nearest warehouse is, but you should be able to get them.

They did you a favor.
But the Good Year GS-D3 are not much better. Than are quieter and less harsh than run-flats, and noisier and harsher than most other performance tires. They are rated for way too many miles to be a performance tire. In short, I hate them.
Get some real performance tires and AAA. Run-flats are terrible.
I just bought a GTO spare tire skinny for my Z06 that fits just fine in the back with a small scissor jack. Its a big stress reliever knowing when I get a flat I can now throw a spare on and be on my way to get me home or off the road (ive gotten 2 unfixableflats on trips) .

Can you provide details on what you bought? Maybe parts numbers?
Yes, any specific info you can provide on what fit your car will be appreciated!! I'm about to ditch the run flats for real tires and having a temporary spare would bring piece of mind on trips............ Chuck S.
I drove 2100 miles last summer, 4200 round trip, on my non-run flats. Maybe I am a thrill seeker!!
I have used 18's that I will sell for, oh, $1000... How bad do you REALLY want those goodyears??

TIA!
The OEM factory mini spare for the 04, 05 and I think also 06 GTOs is a aluminum 17x4 with 3.5" backspacing which works for 97-04 Corvettes.
**note** Some of these rims were machined off a little from the factory and the inner wheel will slightly rub on some Corvette calipers. It did not rub on mine but if it does you will need to just shave a fine ring around the inside of the wheel to clear the caliper so there is no rubbing. This only happens on a few of the wheels. It seems the wheels are not all machined the same from GM.
Tire size is 145/70-17.
I have seen them on ebay and Craigslist for around 50-75 bucks.

Hey guys, I got a set of G.Y. runflats. Yes 4 tires!!!
I called Discount Tire on 12 mile rd. in Farmington spoke to Shawn and he got them. No one else could, so if you need a miracle call shawn and tell him the Canadian told you.
My Goodyear F1 supercar runflats are fine!
I have a wife that drives the car and runflats give me the piece of mind that if she had a flat it means that she can drive off of the interstate if that is where the flat happens. I have AAA but I cringe at the thought of the vette being dragged onto the bed. Seeing that so many people have a problem getting up on ramps I wonder what the odds are getting up on the flatbed. Anyone have that done?
