Any ideas what could cause this to happen, driving my 99 convert. and the fuel gauge stopped, when I insert the key in the ignition the needle moves to the right but goes back to "E", tried adding Techron last night to the gas as read in the Fourm, no changes yet, any ideas would be appreciated....bobkny99
Thank you Plasticfan, I pulled many threads from the Forum and sounds like all agree that techron is the real deal, I just added one bottle last night but will follow up with more. Thanks for the response
Did you reset the computer? When my gauge dies, I reset the computer and it comes back to life.
that is what I was going to suggest. I had it happen to me once with a bad tank of gas. I had a PCM error code and the minute I cleared it the gauge worked as normal.
On my way to work the fuel gauge started to work today, Techron did it's thing, that stuff is great, I will be adding it in every other fill-up for sure. To all, thanks for the help
Pull the codes, then reset it. You get to the codes by press and holding the fuel button on the DIC and touching the Options button four or five times in 5 seconds. Then scroll through the various computers for the codes. Write them down before you press and hold the "Reset" button on whatever code. Reset will clear it.
