Default Anybody using A Hypertech Power Programmer III on A 1998 ?

Is the Hypertech any good for the street, Or is it best suited for the drag strip? I would like to know what people are using on the street with just A few Mod's.I have Donaldson Blackwing, Magnaflow Exhaust with their X-Pipe and really don't race the car(only when A person in Another performance car is next to me at A Light or something.) I just would like my vette to stay in first gear longer, The instant shift to 2nd is annoying most of the time. I usually drive in 3rd gear around town. As you can guess,I have An A-4 Automatic transmission. The stock shift points stink, but I am probably getting My Good Gas Milage because of the stock shift points.    :nonod: :) :) :)

I have a HPP3 on my 98. I used it mostly for the thermostat fan settings because I switched to a 160 deg thermostat. I used the power programming for RFG but haven't played with the shift points or firmness.

I have the PP3 on my '98 MN6 and noticed a definite improvement in low rpm torque with the power programming (93 octane vs 91 stock). I also have it installed in my '95 Roadmaster LT1 with the same 4L60E transmission and love the much firmer upshifts - a night and day improvement over the stock transmission programming

for me it firmed up the shifts, dont really notice too much of a power improvement, but then again, it hardly comes out of the garage this time of year. it does definatley firm up the shifts.

I had one on my 98. I used it to change the cooling fan temps. I also changed the shift firmness. That was a big improvement. I didn't change the shift points because on my 98, the power started to fall off after 5800, and the stock shift point was at 6000. I couldn't see raising my shift points any higher and running in a no-power range.
