Default Alternative Fuel Project

Ok guys with fuel hitting $4.00 a gallon and not stopping I am SERIOUSLY considering a full blown alternative fuel conversion. Does anyone know what fuels are good to use, price, cost, and a setup to run. I still want to get my badass performance when I step on it but I want to be able to lug it around and still average(mostly city some highway) 23mpg. I would be willing to post pics and all the information I can on my project for anyone else who wants to do it. Thanks guys!!

Default Alternate fuel choices

The engine in your corvette was designed to run on gasoline. The obvious alternative fuel is ethanol, but ethanol has less power per unit than gasoline and costs at least as much. Other alternative fuels like peanut oil require Diesel level compression ratios (18:1 minimum) to work. Bottom line: The most economical fuel for your Corvette is gasoline and the only thing that you can do is to drive more carefully.

Another option is LNG (liquid natural gas), used to be a common conversion in Canada on carburated cars, but you would need to install and plumb a pressurized tank and then figure out what injectors would work as well as do a major pcm re-program.
