RPM increase during braking
I drive a 2000 C5 with an automatic. The past few months I have noticed a surge in RPM to about 1200 when approaching a stop sign or traffic light. Once the car is stopped it usually drops back to idle, or a shift into neutral will drop it to idle. I just had a 35K mile check out with Chevy and they could not repeat the problem on a test drive. It does not happen all the time and there is no pattern. All the fluids were OK and I had Chevy totally clean the injector system and throttle body and also check the trans fluid. I am still having this issue. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
