Default Broken Seat Latch...

My driver seat latch is broken off. This is the level on the top, rear of the seat that allows you to tilt it forward. Unfortunately, when I installed my new Vette Net ( for a convertible) my seat hit it, and broke off the part.

Can this part be replaced by itself?

How do I do it?

Where can I get a replacement part?

Call Gene at GMPartshouse but make sure you are sitting down when he gives you the price. You can't just buy the lever you have to buy the entire assembly.

Same problem on my 02 Coupe. Priced the assembly at the dealer awhile back and was told $55. Tried to fix old one by drilling and pinning the shaft with no luck as it is plastic and not strong enough to hold. Need to go back and get the real deal. Doesn't look hard to change though.

Believe it's called the "Recliner" but doesn't show clearly in the picture in the catalog on GMPARTSDIRECT.com or GMPARTSHOUSE.COM

The IPB PDF File I have show the driver side part # 10278650 and passenger side 10278653 its called Cable, D/SEAT RECL ACTR or Cable, P/SEAT RECL ACTR

Need to look in the Parts list at the dealer to be sure.

I can send you the file if you want but it's 127 Megabytes.

Thanks. No need to send a huge file for this part. I will go by my local dealer, and verify what I need. I do appreciate the part numbers!

OOPS I screwed up!!

I just went back and re-read your request and darned if I didnt read it wrong the first time. I broke the handle part on the side of the seat. Yours is the top of the back.

There are several different numbers for that part apparently depending on year/side and type of seat - so you really need to look at the book at the dealer.

Sorry bout that.
