Default Help diagnose my problem!

Just did a header install a weak ago on my 2000. All is finished car was running fine for a week. This week the car decides to randomly stutter. Usually in the 1-2 shift and it feels as if the car is about to turn off but then it continues like normal right after that. Every once in a while the car will randomly stall. Whether driving or stopped. Another thing acting up is my DIC. The average mpg is going weird. When the car stutters it sets the avg MPG back to 0. And it also lets the mpg go down when I am at a stop.

What I am wondering is does this sound like a ground wire is messed up somewhere?

Could be, or battery issue. What about the ground on the driver side of
the block, did you take that off during your header install. maybe it got damaged. All I can tell you is when i had fuel memory issues with the DIC
it was because of the battery going south, what about any codes?
hope that helps

I did take that ground strap off and out of the way during the install so that one is good. Another thing that happened when it stalled earlier was it wouldn't let me restart right after. Had to push my car off the road. Then it said cannot find connection to PCM or something of that sort.

No codes at all.

Read the electrical stiky, sounds like a ground or electrical connection
Have you checked or any burnt wires going down to the starter?

Brand new starter went in. So I will check that. Gonna be tough with the exhaust in now. Can't see much down there.

Ok so car has gone AWOL. Almost had to have it toed home luckily I made it but barely. Car now barely drives. bucks extremely hard. I hear a loud buzzing somewhere inside but do not see any arcing or anything from any wires. or the plug wires. could this be the coil pack? When I give it gas it bucks even harder. It is going into low engine mode or w/e. Saying to service engine soon on DIC, also saying check tire sensors, and to check my active handling. I understand this is an electrical problem. I am done for the night. So I need some ideas where to start. I am gonna check all the grounds, clean them and such as per that other electrical thread. Hope this fixes it.

You might want to check the wiring going to your crank sensor.

IIRC there are two ground wires going to the block on the passenger side ... I missed one on my header install... it was still hung up at the firewall..
I had the buzzing, no start, no gauges etc...

Bill Curlee helped me out..

the car starts.. it just dies though. so.. another thing I discovered during the install, is that I had a mouse living under my driver side cover thing that pops off. there was a nest built and everything.
