Can anyone tell me how to remove/debond the plastic floor in the left and right footwell of a C5? I am doing this for welding and construction access for a rollcage.
Heat gun and a couple of stout putty knives and a rubber hammer..
The heat will loosen the bond, get a putty knife in the joint and heat and pry and eventually you will pop the whole thing out..
Only apply heat to the metal flange as the floor panel will soften when heated directly.
To glue it back in you will need a special two componet gun that mixes the epoxy bonding glue as it comes out. 3M and some other companies make the glue and it comes in different cure times.

Thanks!
When I took or had mine taken out do so, er well, :bang head: little insident, I had the body shop put in steel plates, instead of the stock floor panels.
Yes they weigh more, but then again it did lower the CoG. and when the Cage goes in very soon. we are all set.
