Default What 02 Sensor is this ??????

I think its an front 02 sensor for a C5 but would like to know for sure as I want to sell it .... its brand new.

Incase you can't read from the picture it says:

12569429
DENSO
234000-5500
08F12
It has a Square plug end.

The rear O2 sensors have the square plug and the fronts have the rectangular plug. It would fit the rear plug but the wire is way to short. Don't know what it came from but not a vette.

I don't know how sure you are about this. But I know some of the connectors are oval and some square depending on the year. My car that this was for was a 2004 C5.

From what I've been able to see so far, that item is a Denso rear O2 sensor for late model GM vehicles, including the '04 Corvette.

The 12569429 seems to be a GM part number, that also shows up on their Delco series of products as a 2131568. (See RockAuto.com)

When plugged into GMPartsDirect it comes back as a rear sensor but no application info is given. Give Gene Culley a call tomorrow and he can verify I'm sure.

I have a 2000 and the rear sensor wires are about 2 1/2 ft long. They run from the rear of the cat and plug into the wire harness at the firewall. The front sensors are the oval ( or rectangular or 4 in a line what ever you wish to call it. ). this keeps you from plugging the front O2 sensors which control fueling into the rear plugs that just monitor the cats. Maybe on the 2004 they extended the wire harness so that they could use a more standard O2 sensor. You could just look at yours and see if the wire is long enough to reach the harness from where they screw into the exhaust.

Seems like you did a through investigation. I know its gotta be for a 04 Vette cause thats what I had. But someone told me otherwise....

I don't feel comfortable calling Gene and taking his time if I am not buying something......

Thanks for your help

Interesting. Gene's (GMpartshouse) website lists it as a front sensor for an '05 when I plug in the number. RockAuto shows position 2, which is rear. I too remain puzzled by the short wire lead. Definitely more typical of a front sensor.

I hope you are right

Not according to GMpartshouse. It lists the front Corvette sensors as '97-'04.
The way it's shaping up, it seems more and more to be an '05 front.

Welp, I think I've finally got the answer, thanks to both Fichtner Chev and also to AC Delco website catalog.

That sensor appears to be '04 specific, at least on Corvettes.

Here's what I found:

'97-'03 = 19178930
'04 = 12569429
'05 -'08 = 12581966

Gotta love it when stuff is easy.

You're welcome bud. In one of my previous lives I was a parts guy (aftermarket). Gets me edgy when I see conflicting info on the same part from different sources. Grrr. Guess old habits die hard.

A tip 'o the hat to bcseitz here too.

Rock sells it for $49.79 (that's not list price), so I'd say your thoughts on $45 would be a very fair price. I think list price is in the $95-$100 range.
