See sig for details on specs with the work done within the last 2 months and the car has 130K on the odometer. A couple of days back my engine took a small scarry crap. As I found out yesterday after the mechanics popped my valve covers off, one of my roller rockers BROKE INTO A FEW PIECES. This generated a ton of loud and not so pleasant noise coming from the engine. Fortunately I had just started to drive away from a stop light so I had not hit 35-36 mph. The break seemed to be a clean break and nothing else in the head appeared to be damaged. The shop will be replacing the complete set of rocker arms and then they will run a compression test to check out the engine.
My question is what are reasonable results from the compression test? I guess I'm concerned regarding the bottom end. Depending on the results and the impression of the shop I am considering buying an LS6 bottom end which came out of a car with 18K.
Sounds like they are trying to determine if the valve got bent when the rocker came apart. I wouldn't think the bottom end would be affected based on your description of what happened.
