howdy all! I'm a newbie to both the forum and corvettes. I just got my first (fully stock '97 6 speed) back in august and am looking to begin "mod mania." all this talk about the supercharging packages out there has got me really stirred up! while they are inexpensive to a number of people, supercharging is going to be a ways off yet for me, financially. I was considering vortech, long tubes and corsa indy's for starters, with head/cam and/or supercharging down the road. will either of these negate the other upgrades? thanks for your input!
Re: potentially conflicting mods? need input (Red Gump)
The basic mods you suggest should work fine with later supercharging. If you go heads and cam later with super charging, this is were you should watch out -- super charging normally requires less compression so you would not want to beef compression up by using milled heads. Also a different cam grind is usually preferred for super charging. Hope this helps. :D:D
Re: potentially conflicting mods? need input (Red Gump)
IMHO do the vette doctors pro flow intake (similiar to vortex), LT headers and cat back, then save your money and buy a supercharger when the funds are available.
or just do heads and cam and forget about the supercharger.
Re: potentially conflicting mods? need input (Red Gump)
May want to go with bigger primaries (ie TPIS 1 3/4") if H/C or a supercharger is in your future. I would also recomend an after market shifter, lots of fun for low cost.
