Default Cat question

Hello,

Im really moving forward with the Idea of removing my cats, and hoking up the sensors. Iwas curious if my car will sound any different if I do this. I have magnaflow exhaust, and x pipe, short headers, im trying to get a little more aggresive sound.....Will removing the cats help me out? I wouls alsolike to know where tobuy the sensors, that lets your computer think the cats are still on.
Thanks to all who reply!

Fuelish- removal of the cats will give you a louder, more aggressive sound if that is your goal. The smell is aggressive too! :D

We dont recommend removing the cats for obvious reasons.

We have heard the Magnaflows and they are quiet, maybe too quiet. A different exhaust would also be a solution, but at more expense.

We carry the 02 simms as well. Thanks!

Thanks for the Info. How much are the O2 simms? If i use the o2 simms, will there still be a bad odor?

We offer the simms for 119.00 per pair. The simms will not remedy the odor.

The odor comes from raw unburnt fuel. Removing the cats is not a worth while mod. Most guys do it for the hp, maybe 5-7hp. Still not worth it. These are our opinions only. Thanks!

Do it! You'll love it! The smell is nothing compared to my old, un-catted Rx7. With stock mufflers the loudness barely changes, but the tone does. Has the sound I would have expected from GM.

I believe a few people have dyno curves showing 15 hp on cars with only the typical airfilter mods.

Try 20+ TQ down low... I gained minimal HP up top but the grunt down low is hard to beat considering the price. Check my sig to see a direct before and after dyno. No other mods but off road vs on road. Here is how I made my off-road setup.

I have a similar set up. B&b touring now called Rt 66. The car actually got quieter. The resonance at highway cruising speeds was totally eliminated. The smell is not bad at all. I get alot of compliments onthe sound. Still pops on decel to my surprise. Overall a great mod.
