I bought my chain cutter from NAPA for about $35 and I've used it on several X-pipe installations. It's well worth buying or renting for the job because, unlike the sawzall, it self squares itself and leaves a nice bevelled cut which makes reassembly much easier.

Free to borrow from Autozone...worked like a charm when I installed my x-pipe. Also, don't for get to borrow the pipe spreader tool also. The spreader will slightly enlarge one pipe so the two will snuggly fit together.
