Default Power seat motor question

I think mine is starting to fail.

I am not certain of the signs and thought to confirm here.

When I get in the car, put the key in, the memory seat option would automatically set the position. Now, it basically does about 1/4 of what it was programmed to do. When I use the switches on the side of the seat, I have to hit numerous times to get the seat to move up correctly.

I know there is a problem. Can it be fixed, or just replaced?

Thanks in advance! :-)

Thanks C5streak...yes, all other memory functions work...seat just does not move all of the way when needed. I will check.

BTW - is there a life to the motors? How long? My car is a 97 - I am sure the nickel and diming has begun. I have had it since 2000...it's time.

Do all of your other memory fuctions work? Mirrors, radio, etc? If so, that should rule out the memory system, and you can move on to check the wiring connections to the switch and motor. You may have a loose or corroded connector. If there's one thing common to ALL C5's, it's bad wiring connections. Good luck!
