I bought my 2000 c5 corvette 4 months ago, and when i bought it the dealer sent it out to put a new clutch in it. I drove the car last night and put myboot into it and this strange noise came frome under the car like a exhaust leak with a tinny noise maybe heat shield? It went away as soon as i let off the gas. I tried again this time the noise stayed rattling underneath the car. I came to a stop light put l clutch in and noise stopped took of from lights all good then as got up to speed noise came back. I'm far from a mechanic but if noise stops when i put clutch in could that be a throwout bearing. Thanks for the help.
PS When i parked in the garage i put it in neutral and reved up maybe 3-4 times and noise started and stayed there, its hard to tell where its from back of engine i think. I then turned it off and restarted and no noise then reved up with car in neutral and it did it again and stayed until i shut it off.
Well i just got home from work and found the problem. Started the car up and pulled out to the street and bang went the tranny. Pushed back in the driveway and called the dealer and i'm just waiting for his call back.
