I am looking at a 2001 coupe, 4 spd automatic, that has a replacement transmission. The work was performed at a chevy dealer, using a GM remanufactured transmission. The transmission was changed at 15,000 miles. If I buy this, will it hurt the resale if the transmission is not original?
The car will not likely ever be collectible to the point that the installation of a reman trans will have any substantial impact on the resale value of the car.
I would say that a working reman trans would bring more money than a non-working original one....

And it almost always better than a tranny that was rebuilt at the local tranny shop!
I would buy it without a second thought. It is better than the original trans and should the day ever come that C5 is a candidate for Bloomington Gold you can obtain the originality through technology. If you like it buy it C5's are a great car and a great bargain. Best of luck
