Every time I add a new mod to my 99Vert. Be it a high flow throttle body, ram air, corsa exhaust or whatever. My car bogs down and displays a “Reduced Engine Power” warning. I need to turn the car off then restart it to drive a little further. It seems that after thirty or forty miles the computer learns the new rate of air intake exhaust output etc. Has anyone else had this problem, and is there a solution. Is there a way or devise you can use to re-program the computer to except the changes.
there is no reason with those mods you should be receiving that message. The dealer would be hesitant to help as well becuase the mods will be blamed as the cause of the problem. My suggestion is to open the hood and make sure all wires are poperly connected by the air filter and the throttle body. and all the seals are tight, you might have it set up but not connected tight and that may be the cause??? BUt thats a good place to start.Hope you figure it out
robiferretti's right. These mods should not make the car go into limp mode unless somethings wrong. Check everything over real good. I'd look at the MAS wires/sensors and make sure it's ok. I got the "Reduced Engine" when I had a MAS problem.
Normally the Reduced Engine Power mode is enabled when the PCM can't determine the true throttle position and defaults to this mode. You might want to check there and for codes
