Default Battery Tender / Cetek Question

Just purchased a Cetek and was curious as where you guys ran your cables? Do you use it while keeping your car covered or ?

If you read all the warnings on the Cetek manual kind of makes ya think what the hell did I buy this for...

I don't have a CTEK charger, but I do have a BATTERY TENDER PLUS on my car (OPTIMA).
I leave mine connected all the time with the hood closed and the cover on. I lengthened the permanent ring terminal cable and ran the extended male/female connector beneath the car.
My car sits on a lift when not in use, so it's easy to access the male/female connector when I want to connect to the charger.
Many elect to leave the hood unlatched and a towel on the fender with the power cord running between the towel and cover.

I'm happy with my CTEK, normally I use it once or twice a week (just had it on for a full week while out of town). I leave the hood unlatched and run the wires between the hood and headlight (gap). I don't use it with a car cover, I think all the warnings are more to cover their *** than anything else?

Default Battery Minder Plus

Hi, I use a Battery Minder Plus on mine. I permanatly attached the ring ends of the cable to the battery. I lengthened the cable attached to the ring ends to route safely through the engine bay using loom and wire ties to keep it out of harms way, to a spot under the pass side of the front bumper. I attached the plug end of the cable with wire ties to a frame piece under the bumper. Made sure the cable and ends were well insulated. When parked on my storage lift I can plug the car side of the quick connect to the main side without opening the hood, and I always keep it covered. The quick connecter on the car side has a good attached cover for when the car is being driven.I've been doing it this way with various different cars for at least 18 years, and never a problem.
Good Luck
